Our strange world of words

Sue September 15, 2009

I was born in Morecambe at the Queen Victoria Hospital in the 50s. Aswell as this making me older than I care to mention and feel, I am a sandgrown’n. Grew up in Morecambe when it was in its hey day. I am an only child of older parents. It is my childhood in Morecambe, family life and the major events of my biography that inform my poetry. You know birth, death. grief and lost love – ha ha the cheery stuff ! I have had one poem published – My Mother’s Hands – in an anthology called ‘ Soul of a woman ‘. I have performed my poetry at various venues in Lancaster. A high point for me was being invited to read at an arts festival in Malmo, Sweden. Some of my earlier poetry is on Virtual Lancaster’s web site – I have been told I am more accomplished than that now – leave that to you to judge.

What follows are some of my most recent creations
